Welcome to our new Oregon Explorers Moodle page!
by Jim Proctor - Friday, 16 January 2009, 01:09 PM

The Oregon Virtual School District has now given us our own domain for Oregon Explorers! Our main Moodle page is now at http://oregonexplorers.orvsd.org/moodle. The main page includes:
  • Announcements (such as this one), also emailed to all registered Oregon Explorers Moodle users
  • A list of current online users and a calendar of upcoming events
  • A link to the Oregon Explorers teachers page, with lots of free resources and activities (guests may visit this page but full access requires an enrollment key)
  • Links to Moodle pages for participating schools, currently including Canyonville Elementary, Riddle Elementary, and Tri-City Elementary schools in southern Douglas County
  • Logged-in users see a list of their enrolled courses, plus may view and send messages to fellow Oregon Explorers Moodle participants
We welcome your input as our Oregon Explorers Moodle site is developed this coming spring; thanks in advance.

Regards,

Jim P.

  • Oregon large dams. Large dams are defined by a dam height >= 10 feet and storage of >= 9.2 acre feet. These larger dams are within the juristiction of Oregon Water Resource Department.

  • This geospatial dataset represents the 6th level (12-digit) hydrologic unit boundaries from the Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD) layer for Oregon.

  • This data represents the Oregon City Limit boundaries. Each city limit is defined as a continuous area within the statutory boundary of an incorporated city, which is the smallest subdivision of an annexed area. It is represented as spatial data (polygon with label point).

  • This theme delineates Urban Growth Boundaries (UGBs) in the state of Oregon. Oregon land use laws limit development outside of urban growth boundaries. The line work was created by various sources including the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD), the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), Metro Regional Council of Governments (Metro), county and city GIS departments, and the Oregon Department of Administrative Services - Geospatial Enterprise Office (DAS-GEO).

  • The Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI) has completed the six-year project to digitally compile geologic data for the entire state. This effort brings together the best available geologic mapping from state and federal agency sources, student thesis work, and consultants. The project will create a new statewide digitally-compiled geologic map coverage that will become a component of the Geoscience Theme within the Oregon Framework Themes. The Oregon Framework Themes effort is coordinated by the Oregon Geospatial Enterprise Office, Oregon Department of Administrative Services.
